First, let me start by saying that this is simply a guideline. All of the task do not get done one hundred percent of the time. Second, having a guideline is so important in any aspect of living. The cleaning guideline keeps priorities in check and gives a reference point. Thirdly, zone cleaning may not be for every season of your life. Simply use it as a tool to encourage you to get things going, and to get things done. Once you practice and repetitively do these task you will end up doing them mindlessly.

1. Empty the Whole Drawer
Emptying the drawer is the most important step. Give the drawer good wipe down to refresh and make it feel like new.
2. Sort Your Utensils
Sort all the items into categories. Sorting them by size can be helpful when it comes to putting them back in your drawer.
3. Decide How Many of Each You Need
Look through all of your items and decide how many of each item you need. For example, I have two spatulas that are different sizes and serve different purposes. Make sure what you decide to keep makes since for your life.
Donate to any thrift store, find a family in need or a college student. Gently used items are great!
Evaluate what you have. Does anything need to be replaced? You don't have to replace everything all at once. Make a list and replace little by little if you want to upgrade some items or plan on investing in some organizers.

1. How long has it been since I have used the product?
We often end up with products that just did not work and it is time to discard. Just because you spent money on it does not mean you have to hang on to it. The product will expire eventually anyway.
2. How does the product feel on my face?
One of the most important things in cosmetics is how the product feels on your face. Let it go if it does not make your skin feel great. Smooth, moisturizing, nourishing? Pay attention to how a product feels.
3. How does it look?
Sometimes we go out on a limb and try something new but we end up not liking it. Let it go if you do not feel confident wearing it. Be okay with the fact that it did not work out. Now, you know what not to buy next time.
4. Can I let go of the product to make room for things I can use and enjoy?
Look at the big picture. Letting go of things that no longer serve us a purpose allows room to add something into our lives that we absolutely adore. There is a lot of freedom in letting go and making room.
5. What is the ingredient list?
Consider what you are putting on your face. There are a lot of chemicals that are disguised as "good for you". We can be deceived on the front of the package so always look at the ingredients. A quick google search can tell you a lot. If you can read and pronounce the words it is a good sign.

1. Back of the Door Mesh Pocket Organizer
Maximize space by hanging a full or half mesh pocket organizer. Hang the organizer over the door with with the hooks it comes with or use command strip hooks unless the weight is to heavy. Store cleaners, cleaning rags, microfiber cloths, latex gloves, sachets, guest bathroom supplies, extra household supplies. Think about the location and what would be convenient to store there.
2. Textured Baskets
Woven, seagrass and cloth baskets add great texture to a linen closet. Different sizes are ideal. Store smaller items like extra pillow cases and wash clothes in smaller bins. The larger sizes are great for extra toilet paper or beach towels. Make sure to measure your shelves depth, height and width. Baskets are also great for dividing up the space on the shelves, warming up the space and giving everything a place at the same time.
3. Cleaning Caddy
A cleaning caddy can be very convenient in a linen closet. Usually linen closets are up stairs or on the opposite end of the house than the kitchen. Therefore, it is farther away from the traditional place that we would store cleaners. Purely out of convenience and encouragement it really helps to have small caddies stored with the essentials to make cleaning easier. Try this tip if it makes sense for your space and the location of your closet.
Sachets are a nice touch. Set up your linen closet to smell nice. We like for our sheets and towels to smell nice so why not go for the whole closet. Using soft scents in the linen closet like Mrs. Meyer's lavender sachet is really calming and inviting. Cedar bars would also be a nice touch.
5. Shelf Helpers
Shelf helpers are also a great way to create more space. Create another shelf within your shelf. Linen closets are built differently so it will depend on what type of shelf you have and how much height you have between shelves whether or not this item would be good for you. If you have the wire shelving that are in many new build homes plastic shelf liners can be put down so you can utilize storage efficiently.
